GEK v2.0: September 2008 - current

basic unit - GEK WITH CHINA DIESEL - GEK in honda accord - new manometer
- fab shop and shipping

This is a prototype GEK/China diesel integration. We've built a basic C channel skid to combine the mounting of a 12.5HP single cylinder china diesel, 7.5kw ST genhead, and the standard GEK gasifier.

The unit is run in dual fuel mode. The liquid diesel/biodiesel/veg oil inject is kept on at idle, and syngas is variably metered in the air inlet as the throttle. We've made a separate electronic speed control, which takes the 60cycle signal via a standard 120vac plug on the genhead, and controls a a servo which turns a butterfly built into a 1.5" pipe nipple.

At some point in winter 09, we will offer the design and/or kits for building/buying this skid. Same goes for the electroinc speed control kit. The speed control and butterfly kit can also be used on a Lister diesel genset. See here for the GEK running a Lister 6/1 genset, but using the standard manual governor to control the butterfly.

(Note: The china diesel is built in a manner that you cannot access the output of the governor nor helpfully disconnect it from the injection rack to run the syngas butterfly. The Lister will let you do this. Thus we can run the lister/syngas coversion on the standard manual butterfly. The china diesel requires the separate electronic control)
